About Lost Acres Farm
Here at Lost Acres Farm there are lots of things that we do and have. Some of the following are: we have a AKC Rough-Coated Collies ( anticipating litters after February 2006), Nubian Goats, and Barbado Sheep for sale. We had a new arrival at the farm about 3 months ago in September 2005, our Jenny Burro named Jessie gave birth to a little jack colt. Currently Jessie, her colt and the donkey jack stud are for sale... If you are interested in any of the livestock please email us at: LostAcresFarm@hotmail.com
A little about my farm. I am located in a valley in Southeast Missouri. A secluded valley divided by a year round stream where children and adults alike enjoy many hours of idyllic play. Many areas of the farm may be used for tent camping by the day in a very rustic environment. At this time it is known as"truly roughing it". However, as time goes by I hope to make More modern improvements.
At the present time the farm is a wonderful place to bring children where they can interact with the livestock on a personal level. All animals on the farm are very friendly and people socialized. i have raised four children on the farm and will soon have 18 grandchildren who love to come to "Grandma's Farm". I am known as "Grandma at the Farm" by one of my grandsons.
Animals on the farm include: many peafowl, chickens, ducks, geese, and guinea. There are also many wild birds for those that enjoy bird watching which include several species of heron, many species of woodpeckers, songbirds, and many common birds that most people are familiar with.
There are three horses, a miniature donkey jack, a llama, goats, sheep, and the above mentioned donkey/burro family.
Then not to be shortchanged are the pair of very rare Missouri (Ozark) Mule Footed Pigs. There are many web sites devoted to the Mule Foot pig. These are very tame and love to be petted.
I have raised the Rough Coated Collie Since 1986. These are great Farm Collies without evidence of collie eye (cea) or hip/joint problems reported since beginning to raise the collie breed in 1986. Some of my dogs have been raised to be service dogs and placed throughout the United States by Lost Acres Assistance Dogs.
